HOW DOES HIFU TRIGGERS COLLAGEN RENEWAL
As we age, it is no surprise that our bodies will produce less and less collagen. As a result, our skin will start to lose its elasticity and radiance and forms fine lines and wrinkles. This is when treatment such as HIFU is beneficial as it is able to heat different layers of the skin to boost collagen. The HIFU energy involves heating the dermal and superficial muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS) layers that undergo separate phases of blood coagulation, wound contractions, and tighter shelving of new collagen to reduce wrinkles and sagging skin. The treatment procedure starts with cleansing, followed by ultrasound transmission gel application. Our doctor will then perform the procedure. If it’s your first time getting this treatment, the numbing cream option is also available. Please inform our nurse if you feel like you need numbing cream to make the treatment more comfortable.
After the treatment, the patient may experience redness and/or swelling which should subside within a few hours to 1 week (vary per patient).
