About Five Elements Balancing Treatment

Yin and Yang is one of the prevailing guiding principles of traditional Chinese medicine. It is the concept which describes wholeness and balance based on the interplay of duality. The Five Element theory takes the diagnosis of health and wellness to the next level by identifying the fire, earth, air, water, and wood energies within the whole. When there is a balance of yin and yang and the five elements in the body, the state of perfect health is achieved.

We have created unique treatments based on these ancient principles and natural philosophies to reach states of optimal well-being from the inside out.

As our client, you will receive a pre-treatment consultation to identify your specific imbalances. Based on the results of the consultation, you are prescribed an individualized treatment in order to correctly balance your body’s subtle energies. Each distinct package uses specific essential oils, massage techniques, and other applications tailored to provide you with therapeutic results.

We believe health is attained by restoring balance to the body. Experience our truly restorative treatment packages for increased energy, well-being, and vitality.

() WATER (SHUI) TREATMENT

Those who have an imbalance of water energy may easily feel the sensation of cold in their bodies. They can experience a sluggish metabolism and experience difficulty in eliminating waste from their body, often retaining water in the feet and ankles and gaining weight suddenly. The skin may appear dull and hair may grey prematurely or appear thin due to hair loss. Overall, the energy and body’s vigor is weak.

If you have an imbalance of the water element, you may experience other symptoms such as:

  • Joint pain, arthritis
  • Tooth decay, cavities, poor dental health
  • A history of osteopenia or osteoporosis
  • Hearing difficulties
  • Urinary problems
  • Salt cravings
  • Underactive immune system

Treatment

Our corrective treatment aims to provide warmth and movement to the body to eliminate excess water. We combine a foot bath, hot stone massage, citrus mint mask, and herbal bath using local balinese herbs to invigorate the system. Essential oils such as juniper, lemon, cypress, and grapefruit are used to refresh the body for improved circulation, reduced puffiness, and an overall feeling of lightness and clarity of the body and mind.

() WOOD Blood(CHI) Treatment

In Traditional Chinese medicine an imbalance of the wood energy may manifest as an insufficiency of blood volume and oxygen flowing in the system which leads to stagnation and poor circulation. Women may be more prone to dysmenorrhea (painful periods) and perhaps anemia. One may experience difficulty in focusing, heart palpitations, forgetfulness, anxiety, and insomnia. Lack of regular exercise and poor diet may be contributing factors and as a result, someone with poor blood circulation tends to fatigue easily.

Do you experience other symptoms of a wood imbalance such as:

  • I sometimes experience shortness of breath
  • I have limited exercise stamina and can easily sweat and feel hot with just a little exercise
  • I feel stiffness at the tops of the shoulders and between the shoulder blades
  • I have tightness in my ligaments and tendons which may be reflected as poor flexibility
  • I prefer bitter foods and beverages such as coffee

Treatment

Our treatment is expertly designed to improve blood and oxygen flow and remove blockages. It begins with a relaxing foot bath which leads to a scrub using essential oils such as geranium, ylang ylang, and lavender, bali spices, and salt as exfoliants to reveal more smooth, hydrated, and supple skin. What follows is a lymphatic drainage massage to eliminate toxins and improve blood circulation.

At the end of the treatment, our skilled therapist will perform cupping therapy to dispel stagnant blood and lymph and  thereby improving the flow of blood, oxygen and energy. A special cup is placed on the skin and the air within is suctioned out to loosen muscles, encourage blood flow, and promote relaxation. There are many benefits of cupping such as to relieve back and neck pains, stiff muscles, anxiety, fatigue, and migraines.

() EARTH ENERGY (QI) TREATMENT

Earth energy within the body is represented by the digestive system and the abundance or lack of energy in the body. An imbalance can result in poor energy production leading to impaired digestion, bloating, a weak immune system, underdeveloped muscles, weight gain, and lack of focus and concentration. Poor diet, lack of exercise, and long-standing periods of stress exacerbate an Earth energy imbalance.

You may also experience the following with this imbalance:

  • Frequent stomach aches, indigestion, and irregular bowel habits
  • Sensitivity to temperature changes
  • Easily stressed and/or frustrated
  • Soft voice
  • Frequent cold and flu
  • Menstrual irregularities
  • Low energy

Treatment

Our balancing treatment focuses on restoring the Earth element, reducing inflammation, and harmonizing the body’s energy.

You will first receive a grounding foot bath, followed by a detox oil and hot compress application. Next our expert therapists gently scrub your body to relieve blockages and invigorate your system. The therapy concludes with an abdominal and aromatherapy massage using the highest quality orange, clary sage, and lavender essential oils to aid digestion and truly relax and restore the body and mind.
